Hello and welcome to our personal finance and lifestyle blog! We created this blog to chronicle our journey to fulfilling our dreams (including traveling and making money from our home on wheels.)

We have accomplished many of our goals, including publishing Nathan’s first book, designing a family-sized tiny house, & filming our vlog docu-series that chronicles this adventure with tips to accomplishing your dreams (subscribe here to be the first to see it once it airs.)

We’re the Monks- Nathan, Tashina, Kira, Selena, Gideon, and our cat, Xena- and we’re building a 300 sqft tiny house on wheels to show that it can be done with kids. Our ultimate goal is to see people making money from home, getting out of poverty and living debt free so that they can truly live.

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you’ve imagined.” -Henry David Thoreau

Our various projects have been featured on: blackandwhitelogos

Over the years, we have started or collaborated on many projects and businesses, including a coffee shop and music venue, multiple successful etsy and eBay shops, a secondhand thrift business, a church and bible study, a food distribution, a women and children’s shelter, a successful crowd funding campaign, publishing a book and ebook, a community garden, building a tiny house on wheels, blogs, thriving social media campaigns, and creating Cardboard Abbey, our media company.

Why would we want to live in a tiny house with three kids?

Well, freedom, for one. Also, our tiny house project is the first stages of a project that will create sustainable housing solutions for homeless families. This is close to Nathan’s heart, since his family was homeless when he was a child (which he chronicles in his book Chasing the Mouse.) Find his first book here, and learn more about the sustainable housing project here.

Welcome to our blog! We look forward to reading your comments and seeing the links to your blogs and vlogs as you chronicle your own journey to freedom and financial security.
